Our engagements

Personalised clothing that respects your health

We believe that printed sports apparel should not be harmful. Not only is it possible today, due to sublimation printing, that non-hazardous (to the wearer’s health) printing methods be used, but we also believe that it should become the norm. We practice sport to keep in shape and be in good health, and yet the excessive use of harmful chemical (and sometimes, illegal) substances in garment printing threatens the health of the very same people who seek to be healthy!

Zero dangerous substances

Pioneer in the use of sublimation printing to personalise (to the client’s criteria) sports apparel, Poli’s approach has been to develop a method that is neither harmful to the environment nor human health. Our digital sublimation process uses environmentally-friendly ink since the 90s. To print your personalised sportswear, Poli only use dispersed water-based piezo ink dyes containing neither endocrine disruptors nor heavy metals or chemical substances dangerous for the environment &/or public health. Our dyes are fully conform to EU directive 2003 / 53 / CE DTD of June 18th, 2003 in this matter.

Origin - Poli guaranteed!

Since 2006, REACH regulation (EC N°1907 / 2006) has forbidden the use of dangerous chemical substances listed in an official list. Several recent inquiries published in the press highlight serious breaches of this regulation within the textile industry. Many prestigious brands are unable to guarantee that their products are conform to the standard REACH. They frequently sub-contract their production and consequently have zero control over the traceability of substances used in the dyes in their garments. All Poli products are made in our factory, we do not outsource anything. We manage every stage of the manufacturing process. Permanently conscious of quality control, we only use suppliers of fabrics and inks that correspond with our exacting standards. We do not accept compromise, the regulations are to be respected not bent, and as such we do not sub-contract out either our responsibility in respect to the environment and public health.

Our “Ecowear pocket” for a more respectful attitude toward the environment. This «eco-pouch» on the back of the jersey is for bar wrappers and used gels – don’t discard your trash, pouch it, then bin it!

The Oeko-Tex® certification provides the human and environmental health guarantee that no toxic substances have been used in the manufacture of the garment. Over 100 criteria are subject to rigorous quality controls, Oeko-Tex® certification is only obtained if the textile passes every test.

The fabric once analysed is classified as per its ultimate use: Class I (textiles used in the manufacture of garments for children) and class II (textiles in direct contact with the skin) criteria are the strictest. We export to Norway, a country which imposes the most stringent Oeko-Tex 100 certification, symbolised by its logo "Confidence in Textiles", on all clothing exported to and sold on its territory. All our products are certified Oeko-Tex® 100.

For your personal health, insist on the traceability of origin and manufacture of the clothes you wear! It makes sense!

The Bluesign® certification is an independent industry norm considered to be the most comprehensive in the world. It guarantees the safe and sustainable production of textiles. Materials that have obtained the Bluesign® certificate are considered to be entirely manufactured using only environmentally-friendly processes from the original fibre to the dyes and right through to the finished product.

The certificate’s purpose is to guarantee consumer security, health at work, and to give a firm commitment to the environment throughout the textile production process.
